I have a 1997 GTP with a bad MAF sensor. I have a complete throttle body assembly with a good MAF sensor from a 2000 GTP. I know that the MAF are different in each throttle body. What I need to know is if I can simply bolt on the newer throttle body with the newer MAF sensor and if my car will run normally and what if any issues this would cause me. Thanks. Also I have already tried cleaning the origina MAF in my 1997 and it still has issues under acceleration. Thank You!

Can't you just switch over the MAF? Or is that the year that is different?

Anyway yeah the whole TB should bolt up fine.

The sensors are not interchangeable. Than 97/98 MAF sensor is different than the one for the 99+. If you stick that throttle body on your car without having the 99+ calibration in the PCM, the car will not run right. The 97/98 throttle body has a tunnel for the MAF sensor, the 99+ does not have that tunnel.

That is interesting to know. Everybody has always said the PCM would need to be changed to the 99+ calibration. I have thought about doing this for awhile but I dont have a tuner to change the calibration. I may try this and see how it goes.
