Alternator idiot light came on for a minute or so at a time last week. This week I swapped on a known good alternator. Seemed fixed for about 15 miles then the light came on. Within half a minute it stalled. Starts normally, consistently, but dies in a couple seconds. Seems like theres plenty of battery. Took green cap off evap port, press valve with pocket screwdriver. Nothing there. Replaced fuel pump a couple years back.

Seperate problems? New fuel pump then diagnose charging issue or am I missing something like security or oil pressure or rollover switch? Computer fried from low voltage? Plugged fuel filter? What could cause the charging system light to be on besides the alternator? Wiring appears intact.

I am a bodyman, no EFI mechanic and working outside in cold with very little time, funds, or tools. What is the sane course of action? Thanks.
