I had a cam bushing break off and it scratched the xp cam I had install.
Mechanic says its not that bad and that it can be resurfaced or polished.
Its that something practical to do?
Will the cam work all right or will I have problems?

im not sure if it would be wise to resuse the cam. would really depend on how bad it is.

If the machine shop says it ok to re-use after being polished out then it should be perfectly fine!

If you have the engine out of the car, go ahead and check the rod and main bearings. I didn't do that when I spun my cam bearing and am having to go back and replace the rods and mains, along with new cam bearings again.

Im replacing all gaskets, oil pump kit,main-rod-cam bearings to machine shop specs.(crankchaft).
The block, cam and crankshaft are at the machine shop being woked on.
Depending on their report, ill order stock or bigger bearings.
