Hey guys i was looking for some help and knowledge on a potential problem with my intake temp sensor. I have a intense fwi setup on my car and the outside temp was 87 on my drive to work but my iat was anywhere between 145-151 and it barely fluctuated at all. Didnt matter if i was sitting at a stop light or doing 75 on the highway. This seems extremely odd to me that im getting such high temps. What do you guys think? Thanks

Was the sensor actually in the intake plenum? It could have fallen out and been getting underhood temps...

Bad sensor? Is your car still overheating? Or did you fix that?

I fixed the over heating thing
Air had just got into the system so once i properly bled the air out all was well.

Yeah I know what your talking about I was wondering if you still had other issues that could relate to this. All the sensor work off one another.

This is probably a dumb question but the ambient air temp sensor doesnt effect anything does it?

Ya my ambient temp has been messed up since i bought the car itll jump from 50 to 122 randomly doesnt matter what the temp is outside. I just figured it was only there as a bell and whistle. What does it effect?

it tells the pcm what your air temps are at the intake so the maf can adjust for it.

try cleaning it, or pop a new one in, they are like 10 bucks. or the wires are bad to it. mine was all torn up, i had to replace the pig tail.

No isnt that the intake air temp sensor. I was asking if the ambient sensor did anything. The one on the bumper?

oh i see, what you get for jumping in with out a reading stuff lol

not to the engine, but it can make your heat or ac from not work as it should.

I have an 04 GTP and my IAT reads that high when I'm moving slow with a Hot Air intake setup. With a FWI I usually see around 10-15 degrees above ambient, sometimes it'll spike in traffic. Either way, you could have a dirty sensor. Try cleaning it with electronics spray or something maybe?
