Just wanted to know what filter I should put on my cai when i get it. heard K&n's can mess up the MAF because of the oil. are aem's dy flow filters good? or possibly amsoil?

    K&N still best choice.
They only mess up the maf for people who do not know hot to reoil them when they clean them. They use to much oil and dont let it sit. If you follow directions when you recharge the filter there is no problem.

I would have to agree. In my opinion they come overoiled from the factory also.

    Heh...Mr Amsoil is here.

I would without a doubt buy an Amsoil. Because they have been proven to be better. But they are quite a bit higher in price. But you get what you pay for in just about everything. For the average person the K&N is usually what I recomend. Because of the price mainly. Most people don't want to buy a 60 dollar air filter. Even though the quality far exceeds the other guys.

K&N has never been provided any evidence of a MAF sensor being fouled by filter oil regardless of how much oil was used on the filter. We have tested over 100 MAF sensors allegedly harmed by filter oil and have yet to find any trace of filter oil on the sensors. What we did find was that 60% of the sensors in question were performing perfectly with no defect and had in fact been misdiagnosed. 18% of the sensors had complete electronic failures in no way due to contamination while 22% were out of tolerance. Again not a single one had a trace of filter oil on it. For more information on this issue and K&N’s consumer protection pledge go to K&N Mass Air Flow Sensor Test Results. K&N is proud to have complete quality control by doing our testing, development and manufacturing in the USA. Not only have we sold in excess of 20 million air filters worldwide but we continue to be used by many top racing teams including the winners of the 2007 Baja 1000 and Baja 500 (and the 2008 Daytona 500).

Go K&N. I never heard that except maybe if you dip the filter in oil then it might be a problem.

S&B..........you would be VERY suprised who they make air filters for.
and with there pricing almost $10-15 less then K&N and other companys it just seems like a smart choice. They have been doing performance filters for over 30 years. They are also one of the few companys that will design you filter to your needs and not have to pay alot for it.

Also, where do you guys like to get your K&N filters? I stopped by Advanced Auto Parts the other day to just see what they have and all their performance filters were like $45+, if their that much then why not put out an etra $15ish and get an Amsoil filter if it's a lot better?

at first i had a spectre intake for a few weeks. i ended up buying an amsoil intake and the difference between the 2 were actually noticeable. my supercharger was also louder with the amsoil filter. the amsoil filter uses nanofiber technology, google it to get more info.

if they are REALLY using nanofibers then those filters would be a lot more expensive. the weave is just that much smaller.

    nanotechnology is cool stuff.
