I ran blizzaks on my gto....they were amazing in snow. But I'm sure other winter tires are great also.

If you are wanting less power, I'd just take of the s/c belt and see what you think.

i got two pairs of snows, blizzaks and a pair of dunlop snows, i put either on the front and the car goes where no radial tire will take me.

im the guy who buys used tires for cheap. both pairs cost me about a 100 for tires with 1/2 life or more. i only run em for 2 months a year. so i expect to get a few more seasons out of them. iirc i got 3 seasons on them so far.

I don't think 16in rims fit over comp-g brake calipers.

i found 17 inch wheels for my snows, that way i knew they would fit over my f bodys. i also did a test fit/drive before buying them.

they do, but there were none for sale, and the 16 inch snows were not around at all used, they get snatched up quick. the 17's were a lot easier t find really.

you'd probably get better gas mileage with a smaller pulley and more power than you would the opposite. just sayin'.

sadly, my mpg have not changed from stock really. 3.4 headers, same 14 local. then a bottom swap ic 3.2 42 injectors, same crappy 14 local.

it will do mid to high 20's all hwy if flat ground. like it always has from day one.

Personally, I've been looking at these (Grabbers) in 215/65r16. BFG's are overkill (on my wallet too). There's some kinda cool factor about running on shoddy old rims with big ol' white letter BFG's though. Mind you, I'm looking for wear too. The weather here makes it tricky for the seasonal tire switch, so these should run in the dry longer if need be. I checked and the 16's should clear the calipers the comp g. Guy here say's he'll pull four steelies for $25ea.

iirc they need to be steelies off an impala. do a test fit before you buy them.

25 and 30 mph speed limits, stop lights or stop signs every 1/4 mile. stop go, stop go all over the place. true city driving. its down to 12 today, what jumping on it does for ya.

In those rare occasions where I get to drive somewhere like that, its dropped to maybe 20. Very lowest 18 when I drove like I stole it. It was only about 2 fill ups that I measured with, but I've never gotten below 18 mpg...

if all i did was hwy for a week straight over 30 miles a day type driving. id be in the mid 20's, and then it would stay up there for quite some time before the avg starts to tank on the dic when back to full time local crap.

reset your avg, then drive 30 mph and stop every 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile, idle for up to 5 minutes or longer ( some lights suck bad here) your avg will not be to high driving like that.

I don't have one of those fancy DIC mpg measurers... I do it the old fashioned way, odometer reading when I fill up, then measure how much it takes next time to fill up, then divide the change in mileage by the number of gallons on the pump. Idk what it is about my 04, but it's always been around 25 to 30. Maybe because the fuel filter has never been replaced (yet), it's restricting the fuel just enough to give me good fuel efficiency without starving the engine? Idk. I'm just happy with it as it is. Lol

On highway trips I've gotten well over 28mpg. When I used to drive to work 24 miles each way with at least half bypass/highway I got around 22 mpg (19 in winter due to warmup, winter blend fuel, etc) When I moved 7 miles closer mpg went up about 1 mpg. I've changed jobs, drive about 14 miles, but mileage is around 18 mpg because of all the hills/mountains I now climb to and from work.
