Guys...Let me know what you think. I've been so swamped with work lately and barely have any time to ever work on my car and when I do have free time, I'm busy working on my 03 Envoy. My GTP has 188k on it and it had sat idle for almost the last 6-7 months. I just replaced my catalytic converter on Saturday and now was hoping to get to drive it around some and give a break to the Envoy. I took it for a 10 minute ride and when I came back home, I could hear the coolant bubbling (I assume in the overflow tank). After it cooled, I checked the radiator to find it low. I've had a problem for quite awhile of coolant "disappearing". I checked the oil and it appeared a little creamy and not quite the consistency of normal oil. It wasn't to the point of being white.
What do you guys think? Possibly bad LIM Gasket? I thought I heard on here that the 04's shouldn't have that problem. I did have problems in the past after I first bought the car that the coolant turned to gunk and I think it pretty much plugged up the system. The engine overheated and I ended up blowing out one of the bypass valves and ever since then I have always been having coolant troubles.
If it is the LIM gasket, how big (long) of a job would it be? I can't bear to tell the misses that I have a new issue with the GTP. She's ready to set it ablaze.
Thanks
