I'm at the point now where really the only thing i have left to buy is the actual intercooler core itself... I'm leaning towards ssei's phenolic with its fins/inch, but am still considering ZZP's. I would really appreciate input from people who have actually used these. Would really, really value the opinions of those who have run both.

Which have you used? complaints or praise for it?

i got ssei's fsic and ported lim. works good. best part is the pcv still works, no modding needed.

you need some kind of custom fuel rail or fuel logs too. clearance the coil bracket or lift it, or relocate it.

Running a zzp stage 2 fsic here, I also purchased their lim, didn't use, but modded my own. However, I recommend ssei's core, since the pcv works without modification. plus the phenolic is better for less static heat transfer. I had issues with my setup till i ripped it all back off and modded things for the pcv to work. Of course, with any ic, you'll need some fuel rail mod.

Depends if your buying new then i'd go with SSEi's so pcv will work without any modification.

Now if your looking for used then usually ZZPs pop up more. It doesn't take much to get pcv to function properly just a bit of modification and you'll want to modify your lim.

I had an old school W body store where pcv still functioned and life was easy.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about resealing zzp cores and placement of the hose connections etc. Personally SSEi's is a lower cost and likely much better product. Haven't seen one first hand, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about him. Plus he's got a Bonneville... so he's already a good guy.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I've installed both ZZP and older WBS full size units. The WBS unit was my favorite. I also didn't use SC gaskets; just some ultra grey RTV to seal it all up. WBS was easier to keep sealed than the ZZP unit. Might also be that the ZZP unit had been removed and installed a million times prior because Swigglet had a breaking stuff problem.

I appreciate all the input guys.

I am going to go with SSEI's I guess, as for fuel rails, I bought zzp's modified ones. Last piece I need that I can't get at my job (napa) is an IC core, so. then it's time to save up a bit more for getting everything installed

when you say intercooler core, I think you mean heat exchanger. they are different. you can get a volkswagen radiator for 50 dollars, several people have used them, including sseilmnop aka Ed, with good results

the ic has a core in it. you need a fmhe and a pump. frozen boost 101 one works well.

Those headers. Those look much easier to instal than the aftermarkets out there. And much more space too.

I don't understand why, I could probably make something like that... The ZZP or SD ones are more intricate than that.

I'm talking about the piece that sits between the blower and the lower intake. I already have a heat exchanger
