Good morning, new user, first post.
I replaced the valve cover gaskets on my '06 3800 SC GP. After hooking everything back up the car ran rough for about a minute then shut down. It would not turn over at all. After a few minutes it will now turn over once but not start. I triple checked my spark plug wires and they are correct. One caveat - I accidentally broke a hose (very brittle) and I'm not even sure where it was supposed to connect to. I can't find a male piece or nipple anywhere on the firewall side of the engine. I'll try to add a picture if I can. (This is my first forum membership of any kind. Still learning the technical side of the site).
    Any help would be appreciated.

are you sure nothing fell into the head while you changed the VC gasket? could have gone into the engine.

I'm having trouble with the video i took showing where the part connects. It comes off a T that is under the supercharger. The other part of the T goes to the front and hooks up to an O2 sensor maybe? and the part i broke goes to the firewall side. there was about 3 more inches to that part. So it was about 10-11" total from the T.

this is a vacuum line. its needed or your'll have a vac leak, will make the car run poorly, stall out...wont keep it from cranking tho. what year is your car?

Did you remove the bracket that holds the coils to do the change?
If so have you checked all of you grounds and connections?
    Battery have a good charge?

under the sc snout on the side of the lim is a T, one side to the fpr, the other to the map sensor.

your lines should be close to this.

yes! It comes off the T under the snout. so it must go to the MAP sensor, according to this diagram. Now I need to find that. But at least i'm on the right path. Thank you!

on the back you have two sensors that look the same. it goes to one, the other gets nothing to it but its plug.

    like this.

    It does.

One is a MAP sensor, the other is a baro sensor.

I think only one has a nipple on the bottom, and the line can only be so long so it's kinda easy to figure out what one it's for.

The MAP is closest to the Drivers side. Both sensors are the same part number.

Thank you - I couldn't find an original part. Picked up a piece of more flexible hose that will serve as a patch of sorts. It fits over the hose on either end. Also, both have a nipple so I picked up a cap for the other one. Thank you all for the info and help. I would have been stuck for a long time today.

    Thanks again.

Yes, as Scotty said it is open to atmosphere so just leave it. Also use some small ty wraps to hold it on the tubing for the MAP sensor. Later after it's all sorted out you can replace all the hard lines with flexible line if you want. They will become more brittle with age. I had the one under the snout snap the other day. Came out for lunch started the car and it started to lope. Then the traction control and ABS turned off and it went into reduced power mode. Reduced power mode is bad. If you ever see this get it shut off as quickly as possible as it sets the engine at 15* AFTER TDC and full rich and you can burn up the cat in short order if left running in this condition for any time. It also locks you out of the throttle once you come to a stop.
