    your all gummed up there. id put the tb back on, then de grease it real good. who wants to work on a filthy dirty engine?

    if you have a compressor or some kind of leaf blower even, (back pack, electric hand held) use that to blow the water off and start to remove the rail again.

    Yeah... its pretty scummy looking in there. I'm gonna do that. This might sound stupid... but how do I de-grease it properly? Do I spray the s@%* out of the engine with break cleaner and spray down with water. Or do I focus on the area right above the valve covers only, and spray down with brake cleaner, and water rinse? I have a buddy with air tools that can help me out with the water on the engine. Just never done this before man, and advice would be appreciated. I want to do the process correctly. Thanks

    buy engine de greaser. like foamy engine brite, crc brand i like best cause it stinks less. then theres stuff like simple green, also works well.


    spray the whole top of the engine down with de greaser, wait 15 minutes, during that time you can use a old paint brush to loosen up the dirt oil and grim, then blast it with a garden hose.

    every thing is rather water proof under the hood, spray at will, just avoid directly blasting the alternator. bag your open tb hole. or bolt it back on and put the air tube back on.

    Yeah dude just shove a pry bar or long screwdriver under the rails right in top of the supercharger. First time I took mine off it took a bit of force but didn't hurt anything.

    Cleaning it won't hurt, but just yanking on it or prying it should get it off. I know you want to be careful and all, but just pry one side then move on to the other till it pops off.

    Exactly what I needed to know! Thanks man. Gonna start putting the TB back on and reconnecting the sensors and such so I don't soak them too much. Its like the arctic out here today, not gonna be much fun playing with water, lol. But needs to be done. Those rails just wont budge, I keep bothering them hoping to loosen then up. The entire apparatus does wiggle and move a little. Moving more today then yesterday, but still barely anything.

    time to let the ape out the cage, needs a bit more force is my guess.

    if your still able to drive the car, dont seem like your to deep yet. take it to a self car wash, de grease it in the bay, then power wash it.

    how i do it these days. i dont have my own hose at the apt building, and all my friends have new driveways now lol.

    Here's what I'm gonna do. Considering the arctic temp and such, and all the electrical re-connecting including the injector connectors themselves, I am going to spot clean the area around the 6 injectors with de-greaser. And then rinse off as best I can. Then gonna try prying the rails up forcefully.

    What is the last option here? Like what would a shop do in this situation ? Can I disconnect the injectors one-by-one from the rail and then work of getting them out individually?

    I was thinking that blasting some air from a compressor around the injectors heads might help as well. Help to loosen them up a little. Any thoughts on that?

    A shop would probably just man-handle the rails and pry them up. Stuck or not that would be the quickest way. Just stick the bar or screwdriver under the rails using the supercharger for balance and hit it up. You'll eventually work it out.

    I was able to get somewhere. I pryed up the front rail. I was able to get injector 1 and 2 out, 3 (closer to throttle body) is still stuck, Pryed more but now the head piece from the rail is starting to separate from the injector itself, a trickle of gas let out as well. See picture below. Did I just break something?

    You may aswell just take those clips off if you really can't get the injectors out of the cylinder head.

    Those just push backwards and will release the inejctor from the rail itself.

    Yes, fuel will spill out.

    you made the clip spread. ive never seen this before.

    if you can get the clips off, (flat head screw driver and pry them back from the sc side of the rail looking down, you'll see a lip to catch)

    pop em off rip the rail off the injectors and pray for the best. then pull the injectors out the heads one by one.

    I'm still trying to get it out in one piece. LOL. I was able to pull it out some by lassoing the bottom of the injector head with some really thin wire, almost thread like. See pick below. The thing sticking up is a wooden kabob stick for help position the wire. The black pry bar is underneath the rail in the 2nd. Also pic with my set up, lol. Two space heaters and a heat lamp. I pulled up hard on the wire and the wire snapped on me! That injector is in there good! Let me tell yeah! I was at least able to see the yellow o-ring on the other 2 that came loose. Can't see it on this one. This injector looks extra extra cruddy too. Gonna try to lasso again this time with 2-3 wire braided together.

    Why do you say "pray for the best"? Is disconnecting those 2 parts un-orthodox?

    love the tent city there. done the same thing due to to much sun lol

    pop the clip pull the rail off the injector. the clip will come right off.

    the thing is they are not really straight in the hole of the rail they live off to a slight angle, they come out easier if you got the rail in your hand and pull the injector out on the angle, vs straight out. or the top of the injector could break.

    One last thought before I get back to it. I don't think this injector is coming out period. I just tried a double braided lasso wire and really, really aped this thing, and the wire snapped on me again. Injector did not budge, not a nothin! It might need to be broken to get it out, I don't know. This thing is locked up in there.

    pop the clip, by hand you can push it back in and pull it up, it will move more side to side, but dont push to hard to the side or the bottom can break.

    Alright! Pheww.. Fuel rail is off. Took some good prying. All 3 back injectors came out attached to the rail. That one in front I did have to unclip and leave inside its hole. Now on to flushing the coolant out of the LIM, and then remove the sc. Finally on to something different. Ohh, and I need to unbolt the copper EGR tube after flush.
