    Is there a difference between the alternator or a regular 04 grand prix and the 04 gtp grand prix I need a new one and want to know

    Not really. But id suggest the cheaper "non clutched" alternator from the 05+.
    The clutch is inside the pulley and is a one way clutch that eventually squeaks/makes noise so gm stopped using em after 1 model year.
    Plus the non clutched are cheaper

    Yes. Gt n gtp use same alternator mounting. Up package cars with all the options sometimes got the higher amperage alternator that the taxi/9c1 used

    What was the year they used them? I thought it was an 06+ thing?
