Hey guys I'm pulling my supercharger off this week when i do my snout. Just wondering if there is any maintenance or mods I can do while I'm there? I was already planning gaskets and general cleaning along with some wrinkle finish 350 degree paint.

Is there any porting or anything I can do to the intake or my gen v while there off?

You do realize you can do the snout without removing the SC? Although it is a good idea to do a gasket change while there depending on mileage.

High ratio rockers, headers, egr delete, plugs wires, trans pan drop and filter change along with shift kit, VC gaskets, check for other leaks (rear seal).
    : )

pand oh, modular pulley while it's off (SC), even if you keep it stock sized for now.

basic mods... But prep for things to come.

ill second the snout just comes off, no need to remove the blower. taking the snout off limits what else could break on you. like injector o rings and vac lines and such.

open the drain fill cap, suck the old stinking fluid out. lay some rags down a top the water pump and in front of the snout, cause more oil will come out when the snout its opened up. leave the rags and spray down the inside of the snout with brake cleaner and mop up the mess on the engine.

While pulling the pulley to install my mps I busted the stud off of the puller In the shaft of the snout. So that's why I'm pulling the snout off. So I figured while it's down for a few days do gaskets and anything else it may need.

Coolone it has all that but rockers (which I'm in the process of buying), headers(I have a plog), egr delete (I'll look that up unless someone can give me a link), and vc gaskets which I was planning on doing anyways.

I don't want to do one of the cheapo shift kits so I just did a pan drop and changed the filter/fluid. Do the cheap shift kits do anything aside what tuning it does?? With the tune I have the trans shift awesome so I was steering away from pulling the pan off again but I do plan on doing the filter and fluid before summer hits and I do the rockers/springs and retune.

A trans go kit never hurts anything, more of a fix it kit than anything to prevent possible future issues.

Intake gaskets should be done if they never have been if the vehicle is a 97-05 model.

Intake gaskets. Ok. The car is a 04 with 175k. I'll look into a transgo kit for the future then thanks

EGR delete is simple as cutting off the gold tubing after unbolting it from the manifold and lower intake...

Using the brackets that originally bolted to the manifold and LIM...and RTV'ing a penny into the backside of each one and bolting them back down.

ZZP sells an actual block off plate for $20~ for the pair...but I like my two cent block off just fine.

At that mileage...I'd also check motor mounts...flip the uppers or swap with poly's...etc. Plugs/wires/PCV...those things too.

I'll have to look that up it sounds easy enough. What is the purpose of the e.g.r delete?

I've already flipped mine and I have solid mounts to put in.

    Cleans up the engine bay.

No carbon build up in the intake (if you cleaned your TB you'd see what I'm talking about).

No chances of any vacuum leaks from the gold tubing...which are the PITA to track down if everything else is in check.

Ok so what I read is conflicting. Some say it causes kr some say it helps. Some say the exhaust be recirculated helps performance some say it leans oUT the exhaust and that's what causes kr. So I dont know what I'm going to do.

A good point made is that race motors don't have egr BUT how many of our cars are straight race? I know mines a dd. Im going to look into this some more aND see what I find out

you also need to tune it out in the pcm. mines long gone. no issues, and its turned off.

From what I read the only opinion that's not conflicting is that it cleans up the engine bay. Other then that there is no two people that did it for the same reasons or that say pros that make me sway towards doing it. Maybe at some point I might I do plan on ic the car at some point so when I do that I may look into it.

PayPal keeps screwing me. So not only is it taking forever for them to transfer money into my paypal wallet but they actually made 2 transfers out of my account and now I have to wait to see the one that they messed up on to transfer it back to my bank account. Sorry for the rant but I didn't think this would be this hard. Thanks paypal

your new to pp still, it takes a day to confirm your bank info. thats the 2 deposits of 2 and 6 cents or some crap like that.

you can link a credit card too. or add cash with a paypal card.

egr can stay with a ic too.

    I change that previous statement.

I did read that deleting it stops carbon build up and less carbon build up means lower intake temps. I do like that. But that's really the only thing that I would care about changing with it. So all that work for a change I will probably never notice. I'll put my time into detailing my engine a little more and cleaning everything up making my motor look sexy.

I put the transfer through last.... maybe wednesday or thursday. Have no pending transactions. And on top of that the extra transaction from my bank account. I've been using PayPal for 10+ yrs. Not new at all.

the only difference in the end is the intake is cleaner. the tb wont get carbon build up any ore either.

like i said, you cant just take it off. it needs to be turned off and its codes deleted from the pcm. or you can lean out when going wot iirc.
