I'm wondering if the tb is car boned up that's why it hesitates sometimes. It is an 04 drive by wire.

it cant hurt to pull it off and clean it. most are filthy if never been cleaned. its the back side thats dirty, not the front where the air filter clamps on.

rip it off already then....whats stopping you?

you can make block off plates too. some 1.5 inch wide flat stock and hole for the bolt and some rtv under. done deal and easy to make.

Fear of more stuff going wrong with what might already go wrong.

I plan on having my silencers in the supercharger tig welded shut so maybe I'll make a drawing and some dimensions and have the shop.make me a block off.

That's dumb to block the silencer ports.

    Deleting the EGR, is simple.

Cleaning the TB is four, 10mm bolts.

    Quit over complicating it.

i made them with a drill and a grinder with a cut off wheel. if its tuned out already, just get rid of it already, its not needed.

How is it dumb? Because you've never bothered to do it? The only reason to keep them is so the sc is quieter. And im already going to have the car down for about a week so hell with it. I know a fab guy that Said he would do it for literally next to nothing.

Blueguy imo every mod has a purpose. If there is not purpose behind a mod then what good does it do? I'm not over complicating just trying to get a grasp of the idea behind deleting the egr. I mean smoking crack sounds like fun but if you didnt know you could addicted and it could kill you would you still do it?? Probably so why not ask and understand.

Thanks for all the help scotty. I'm trying to find the write up on deleting it now.

    Lol, okay guy.

    Been around quite a bit.

Either delete it or don't. I've already explained the benefits of deleting it. It's there from the factory for emissions and recirculating warm exhaust gases for "better MPG". Don't delete it, I could care less.

I also know good and well what the "silencers" of the blower outlet do, and blocking them does nothing for performance, nor noise.

But go ahead and have someone weld it in there...and when it all breaks loose and falls into your motor, then enjoy that.

Don't sit here and try to bust my chops when all I did was try and help. If you don't like the direct approach then don't take my advice. I could care less after all. It's your car. Go sit and read more about EGR deletes and silencer port blocking. See what you come up with. It'll make more difference to your car cleaning the entire throttle body than doing those "two mods just because the blower is off".

The GenV is perfect as it is. Leave it alone. Proven time and time again the only thing that'll help it is cleaning up the inlet side of it.

    That's it.

But I'm gonna go smoke some crack because it sounds fun.

    Byeeeeee.

sealing the ports, well theres no gains, so why? unless you like unwanted attention from the wrong people possibly.

theres no how to threads for deleting a egr. you unbolt and toss it in the box of spare parts. cap off the two egr ports.

this is my egr block off on the lim. i tore the tab off the tube, used a nickel to block the hole and the tab over it.

That's slick scotty. And yes I want my sc loud. I like loud things. Call it what you want but that's how I am. I've spent more on my exhaust trying to get rid of the "3800 drone" I hear from almost every 3800 vehicle I've ever seen then I spent on the car. Everything from "straight pipe" to now having a 3" cherry bomb resonator to 2 2.5" chambered bullet mufflers. So I believe where it's at now is as good as I'm going to get it and now I want the sc louder. After the 3.5 pulley and the silencers welded shut (not jb welded ACTUALLY TIG WELDED shut) I'm hoping for a sound change if not then oh well no harm no foul. I read a write up from Eaton about the m90 saying that basically the ports aRe only for silencing the sc other then that they serve no purpose.

And Blueguy if you don't care then that's fine. Don't post man no harm done im going to do what im going to do. I literally got more info from that short paragraph of the "gen v being perfect" then I got from any post I've see you write to me on this thread. So yes to the point is the best route. Im not trying to "bust chops" if you feel offended in anyway by anything I've said I'm sorry I do appreciate all info and help I get. I just want to get all the info i can and if you dont want to help or dont care then why waste your time. Whether its you or someone else ill get the info i need or am searching for. thanks.

Again I'm not here to offend/upset/or annoy anyone. If I'm doing this then don't bother posting. Read and have a laugh at my expense I don't give a **** but no need to be a dick. I'm new here and you were new at some point too.

Tig welding the blower housing may warp it. If you warp it, the rotors will gouge it, and then you're going to have more problems.

There's been threads on here, and other forums before about people welding the ports shut, and none of them proved any gains whatsoever.
Leaving well enough alone is better than dicking up a decent design for just going after a sound like the ricers go for.

    Just my 2 cents.

I JB welded an aluminum plate to cover the ports on mine a few years back, didn't notice a change in tone at all though. The stuff held great and looked the same when I pulled the blower off like a year later. It really only cost me my time but overall it's not doing anything.

Make a blower louder on a 14 second car while still getting freight trained by a 5~ year old V6 Camry.

Oh and when a buddy of mine use to swap gen3 blowers like every month , we did fill the silencer ports. Didn't notice much I mean I wanted to say it's louder but the gen3 just has a different pitch then the gen5 does to begin with
