Just curious which headers you guys have loved or hated for your cars. I see everyone has a problem with pace setters leaking, so I'm curious with Christmas coming up which ones you would put on your car if you had to do it again. I've seen the pro tuning labs for a decent price but you usually get what you pay for. Any feedback would be appreciated. Happy holidays to all you great gp guys

    Speed daddy or ZZP's.

Read up on them, prolly like 50 threads with the same sort of questions you have.

Both have draw backs. Either with needing to mod them/buy extra parts or just the general price of them.

Thanks I'll have to look into it. I've seen a ton of info on the different brands and styles. What one guy hates the next loves so it's all a matter of preference I guess.

you'll be 260 ish deep with band clamps for the sd's. and you need to beat the firewall in some to clear the o2 sensor. and re use the gaskets on your heads already, the ones they give you leak.

How is the fitment to the existing exhuast? I'll spring for some copper gaskets if I have to help the seal on the heads.

re use the stock gaskets, they are the best.

the down pipe lines right up to the cat back. you can add a cat for like 50 bucks off ebay. 3 inch high flow. if you need one, if not you want to delete the code from the pcm.

I'll reuse the factory gaskets then. Thank you for the advice! Any opinions on going catless and deleting the code or buying the bullet and buying a high flow?

if you plan to put a 3.4 pulley on it you should tune it, you can buy canned tunes and have them set the codes up at that time.

the cat is all on your state, do you need one? if you do most states will let a hi flow cat fly. unless in ca or NY now.

I'm in michigan about 30 minutes from zzp. Is a tune required for adding headers? I'm not 100% sure I want to drop to a 3.4 yet. I figured I'd start with headers and see where that takes me, which is most likely more bolt ons and a tune lol

being a 01, you'll want the cat test killed to, one more step needed got the 01 up guys.

anding headers actually made my car feel slower, you loose 2 to 3 psi boost, but thats whats killing off your stock kr. then you can add a 3.4 and a tune. now that will make a difference over stock. its not corvette fast, but just fast enough to make you happy over stock.

oh, the 01 needs that cat test killed off no cat or a high flow cat. or it over fuels.

Ok so might as well cut it out and have the cat test killed. Stock cat must create more back pressure?

Stock converter flows just fine, the restriction is the u-bend in the factory downpipe.

stock cat is not 3 inch, so you dont want that.

if you dont have inspection, run no cat, have the cat test killed. done and done.

You can cut the opening to fit a 3in pipe if you have welding skills.
