So I had a minor coolant leak on my 2000 GTP so I figured the two plastic right angle coolant fittings that connect between the engine and the alternator bracket were bad. I stripped the engine down and removed the bracket and it is different than the one from my last engine. This engine was removed from a donor GTP and installed into my car and I have had no issues up till now. The bracket I removed from the donor engine only had one removable elbow. The other one was cast into the bracket. The mount for the alternator is also different. The real problem is the cast elbow snapped when I removed the bracket. I have the bracket and alternator from my old engine. Anyone know if they can they be interchanged?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Sean

you can change it, but you also need to swap the alt with it.

ScottyDogg - Thanks for the quick response. That is what I was hoping for. Is the donor bracket I had from an earlier motor? I have not seen that design before.

96-98 3800 w bodys got that bracket. i got one myself.

just make sure all 4 holes are super clean. 100 grit or finer sand paper worked lightly, works well.
