All i really want to know is how much of a difference a 3.4 is on a 8.5 (L67) compression block vs a 9.4 compression block (L36).

Would running a 3.4 on the top swap be similar to running a 3.3-3.2 on a GTP engine as far as supporting mods go?

a top swapped car makes about 20 more horsepower than an L67 on the same pulley, that is if there are enough flow mods. what goes in must come out.

you're correct. 3.4=3.2 on a top swap car.

a 3.4 pulley is really pushing it. a ic would be best.

i had a rocker, 3.4 l67. the l36 top swap with rockers and the stock pulley would have blown the l67's doors off.

i tried the 3.4 on the top swap, i was getting tons of KR at part throttle. and im talking 1/4 throttle. 6ยบ kr

    you have a cam.

i got no real mods other then the headers and the rockers. heads are lightly ported but clearly that didnt help.

ic will be paid for on friday night let the pulley dropping commence.........

Just because you saw knock, doesnt mean everyone will.

Lots of people might be able to get away without a intercooler.

The blue POS is on a 3.2 with roughly 9.5-10 lbs of boost with headers, and slightly ported heads and an XP. Once I figure out my fueling I'll try my 3.0 but I'd rather play it safe for now.

Now the 03 has an IC and I see blips of KR with rockers and a full size intercooler/headers, etc. about 10-12 lbs of boost.
    03 GS - SSAC, AEM wb, PT,SR rockers, Gen 3, 3.4, dynotech trans w/ 3.29's.

    87 Fiero GT. L67 Swap. XP, ported heads/sc. N* TB, FSIC, 2.8, 12.018 @ 113 1.71 60'.
