    LIM gasket job.

Reattaching the new LIM as the old one was toast. Very brittle in spots and had a hole in it.

Bolt #6 is not tightening. Its just free spinning. Manifold alignment is perfect as I can see way down the bolt hole.

Can i skip it and come back when the LIM is lower and hopefully it catches?

Did your original LIM have pits where the coolant passage ended? And how many miles when you did the gasket change?

the blocked side of the lim on my 98 gs looked good and pitted. had around 220,000 on it. it sealed just fine.

the l36 lim i have looked damn good, but its 1/2 the miles @ 109,000.

So you don't think mine will be pitted? Or if it is, it won't be that much. I've got 124xxx miles right now.

Anybody know where I can order new LIM bolts? I lost one by the crossover and cant find it. Kinda thinking it may be best to replace them all though.

You wouldn't happen to have one around and give proper numbets on would ya? Mine is missing a few threads and doesn't match up with whats at the hardware store.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

Never mind. Apparently they don't have to be exact replacements. I got ones that fit. Crisis averted.

Thanks for the offer Scotty, but I think I found a solution.

Also found out that my pintle caps on my injectors are disintegrating due to age. These are not generally available at the auto parts stores or am I not searching correctly?

as long as the o ring will seat on there when pushed in its ok if the bottom is cracked or missing.

iirc its a rebuild kit that has new bottoms and the little filter inside the injector.

One was completely gone. Others had cracks and brittle around the tip. Somehow they are putting up a fight to be removed in one piece. Seems to be faster to let them break into chunks and then watch them fall off.

I found some universal caps online. Going to see if those work as I already have the o rings for top and bottom.

Still waiting on the caps, but I've put on a few more components. I've got the throttle body on and am tightening down the alternator. However I seem to have an extra nut. It's just like the one that goes on the positive terminal on the alternator. Its a 97 so the setup is a little different, but I do have the 3 bolts finger tight.

The bolt doesn't stick out near the plenum. Also there is not enough space for the nut to fit. However there is a bit of space between the support bracket and the alternator itself. The support is a bit concave and a nut would fit in there. I just don't see why though, which is why I wasn't sure that was it's proper place.

pic and size of the nut. if any one will know its bill lol

theres no nuts in the install of the alt or bracket, inless it came off the stud there for a support bar/bracket that some cars have.

I think I just figured it out. Silly me.

From in moving out: Alt, stud, bracket, nut.

    NOT: alt, bracket, stud. (nut?)
