    My car has 165 000 miles on it. My current mods are in sig.Can i buy the gt1 cam and slap it in?besides a retune do i need other parts?

    any opinions? zzp says its ok to run it with stock everything but I am just wondering due to my mileage.

    Can't see your sig but I would at least do a set of valve springs w/ a new stock timing chain and dampener. With 165k I only imagine there's at least a bit of wear and tear and you'll already be in there.

    I top swapped at 133k on a rust bucket imp. Just depends non your expectations. I will be more than happy if I keep this car on the road for 3 more years. I certainly wouldn't be worried about camming at 165. If you are looking for longevity then replace all the wear parts you can while your in there. Lifters, prods, springs, timing set, rockers etc... Or just "slap it in" and enjoy it.

    I would rather just slap it in and run it I just dont want to break down a week later lol.

    I remember reading that you can get cheap upgraded springs straight from gm. Anyone know which ones i should get and from where? Im guessing 90# springs but where would be cheapest

    Yes I'll find you a part # later. For the retainers that just have to be LS style ones. You can reuse your valve locks but it's also handy to same extra on hand in case you lose one.

    I have an 04 GT - n /a I've been thinking about doing the same thing I don't have any of the mods you have was thinking of doing and Hv3 front plog and a gt1 cam and possibly see if reptile can do a tune for me
    04 GT2: 180 t-stat, cold air intake, reptile tune, plog, hv3, gt1 cam, 90#springs, new push rods, new lifters, port polished heads, lim, uim and tb, 06 Impala brakes and steel brake lines. Cosmetic: black roof rails, under glow, Pontiac ground light, blue hud dic radio controls and cluster. To come custom hood.

    I was thinking troy should buy it but all are welcome too lol.
    happy wife happy life. That saying Has worked for 11 years so far..lol

    I should of just bought it without mentioning it lols.

    When some er rockers popup for sale ill buy them and throw them in. Ill just say im replacing the valve cover gaskets since she knows they are seeping oil lols.
