Sorry if this has been discussed before...been searching the site for 4 months...just don't know the right keywords for my problem.
I have a 2000 GP 3.8. have had it for 4 years, always ran perfect. 4 months ago, it started to die when put into gear. Check engine light came on...pulled code-said TPS. Replaced the TPS...no joy.Now it will start and run perfect(just don't even look at the throttle pedal) for about 10 seconds, then die
went on here, looked at the manual...thought it might be the ECM. couldn't find a local source to reprogram a new one.
A friend said it could be the ICM, or a coil pack. swapped out/checked with a multi-meter all of the coils-good to go
The ECM would cost $100.00 to replace. The ICM was $140.00 to replace.
I don't want to throw money at parts that I can't prove are bad. I don't mind spending money to fix this, but I want to know I'm on the right page before I spend the money...
Has anyone here had similar problems? Any ideas which direction I should go? Thanks for ANY help
