I have a 1999 Grand Prix GT, everything is stock on it.

I'm not too knowledgeable about exhaust systems and was wondering if I could get some help..

I'm looking to replace the stock muffler and exhaust tips with aftermarket..but honestly can't do it myself without a little advice/help...

    -Flowmaster 40 exhaust/dual tips??
    OR
-Cut off exhaust and straight pipe with stock exhaust tips.

Which one is cheaper? Will sound better? And which one is easier to do myself?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I'd like to vote D None of the above. Unless you need mufflers, then sure go with the 40's. Expect drone and loud. PS>. please turn off the bold typing.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It takes a bit for these cars to sound even remotely good. Like Ace said, just get ride of the u-bend some way or another with a u-bend delete or dp. If you want a better look, then buy some tips.

Stock mufflers, and find tips you like.

I'll probably do the U-Bend Delete and put dual tips on it.

Would a 3.5 inlet/2.5 outlet sound the best?

Stock size is 2.25 but I went with 2.5 because the choice in exhaust tips is better.
