I am thinking of camming my 2007 pontiac Grand Prix N/A with the L26. The problem with that I am hearing is it will need a tune. Which I am fine with. My question is that since it's an 07 would I have to change to a 04-06 PCM? If I do change the PCM what is different? Will it change my driver information like my odometer? Will I need a different wiring harness?

you would have to use a 04 pcm, iirc the gas gauge reads backwards tho. not sure if they worked something out for that yet or not.

n/a engines even cammed are still kinda slow, why not cam and top swap and go all the way.

Don't need that much more power just a little. My other car I just bought will get a charger though.

you may want to install headers with that cam.

I saw ZZP had a cam a while back that did not require a tune wasn't sure if it would be a good idea though. Headers are going on it anyway.

id contact will at overkill. he seems to be good with the tuned pcm's of the 05 and up cars.

you maybe able to run it with a stock tune, but lets face it, you'll get more out of it with a tune.

L26 does not do well with a top swap. Turbo is a possibility

I think if you use a 05 PCM it's possible but you probably should contact the tuner of your choice and confirm.

since when? turbo is way more of a power adder then a top swap could ever hope to be.

I read an article stating that the L26 has weak connecting rods.

Well generally unless your going with a huge cam then no it's doesn't necessarily need a tune but if your going through all that work why wouldn't u tune it if a tune is not possible I wouldn't bother and would just stick to the intake hv3 maybe even rocker combo.

contact will at overkill. he tune the newer cars, he can help you out the best.

hes a vendor here, and has tuned many members cars. hes got his own section here, with the rest of the vendors, maybe you can find your answers in one of these threads.

Will is also quite active here, so if you post he will reply sooner or later.
