In 2004 GM switched to a L26 name as the motor was updated slightly, but it's still the same block. Just upgraded internals, nothing that really matters. L26's will likely be lower miles, but cost more........maybe.

Also note that the L26 won't be 100% direct bolt on, you'd have to swap some parts.
