I recently bought a 1999 Grand Prix GT with a blown motor. I was just curious what other series II motors will interchange and bolt right up to this without additional parts.
Thanks!

Google?
97-03 grand prix with L36
97-04 regal LS with L36
97-05 park ave with L36
00-05 mone carlo with L36
00-05 impala with L36
In 2004 GM switched to a L26 name as the motor was updated slightly, but it's still the same block. Just upgraded internals, nothing that really matters. L26's will likely be lower miles, but cost more........maybe.
Also note that the L26 won't be 100% direct bolt on, you'd have to swap some parts.
04-08 grand prix with L26
Buicks L26 cars can work aswell.
I did a little bit of google searching. I ultimately figured that the people on this site would be a lot more knowledgeable than "yahoo answers." Thanks for your help!
Its just on that car there are sooooooomany vehicals with interchangeable engines lol
I personally find an 04+ L26 is much cheaper based on supply. Lucernes, GP's, Lacrosse etc has these motors. If you swap the rear exhaust and intake manifold, it's a drop in. And it's an upgrade if you leave the aluminum pan on it and use the newer style motor mount that may also be on it.
I have one in my 00 Regal GS right now. Came from an 07 Lucerne $300 with 50K on it.
