    Hello,

I need to replace the knock sensor that is located in the firewall side. Any suggestions on how to access this knock sensor? It is located in a very tight place between the engine block and the transmission case. Any help will be appreciated.

I've heard it's been done in car before.

Just takes some luck and skill. I think you'll need a swivel and some extentions and a 3rd arm to get it out.

I would try to go at it with a swivel, and or a crow foot. It's no fun either way.

    Thanks guys for your response.

I'll try again with a swivel and extension. The only thing is that there is no space get the socket in and even the knock sensor does not fit through the gap between the block and trans case. I guess I have to introduce it from the passenger's side.

Yes..you can bring it in from where the trans leg is smaller.

Jucaan if you get it will you let me know how you did it.I had to change my antifreeze last fall and repair manual says to pull both knock sensor to completely drain the block.Could only get the easy one out and was able to drain most of the old antifreeze with a couple flushes.Good luck and thanks for any input.

daviddawg, I already pulled one that is in the left side of the engine block, facing the radiator. That was easy and I think most of the anti-freeze came out of the block. Hopefully this helps.
