I've got a 2006 with 277000kms on it. I purchased it in November. Most of the time it won't stay running unless you give it gas as soon as you turn the key. If you don't give it gas, it turns on and then right back off. At first I thought it had something to do with the EVAP leak I had. Got that fixed. Then had the fuel injectors cleaned. Still doesn't work properly. The mechanic said he wasn't sure what was wrong. Most of the time it will start fine in the morning after sitting all night, but later in the day it needs to be given gas. Any suggestions? Also, the cruise control doesn't work...

Take you throttle body off and give it a good cleaning. Behind the flap there can be lots of carbon build-up. This happened on my 05 when we bought it. Cleaned the TB and the MAF and it fired up every time. Buy some TB and MAF cleaner. Only will take about 10 minutes.

Also clean the MAF sensor while you're cleaning the throttle body, may as well. The throttle bodies on 04+ GP's are electronic, and thus get stuck fairly easy when too much carbon builds up through the plate. My 05 would stall EVERY single warm start until I cleaned mine.

Ok, so can I use Seafoam Spray carb cleaner? It says it can be used for throttle bodies and oxygen sensors, so can I use it on the MAF sensor? Or should I buy the purpose cleaner?

Only use MAF cleaner on the MAF, anything else can damage the sensor/hot wires.

Throttle Body Cleaner and MAF Cleaner. Also after you clean the TB, get a clean rag and spray it down some with the TB Cleaner and wipe down as far as you can into the plenum to clean off some of that carbon build up as well. Do not spray directly into it. Only on the rag.

I had same issue where I would start car and it would die right after and sometimes when I started it, it would run for a few seconds then quit running. I cleaned the throttle body real good and put it back on and fixed my issue! It's been almost a year since I did this with no issue at all!
