    I have a 2004 Grand Prix GT with 140,000 miles on it.
    I was getting a hard shift into reverse from park, with a lot of engine movement;
    So I took it into the dealership to look at it, and they found that the front passenger torque mount bracket on the block was completely broken.
    The mechanic suggested I replace the bracket, as well as both torque mounts.
    I have to drive from Vegas to Minnesota in a few days, and wondering how best to go about this.
    I understand I need to replace the bracket, but do I really need to replace both mounts? Should I just replace one? Or can I get away with just getting up to Minnesota and replacing the mounts on my own there?
    (Money is tight with the move, just trying to see if it's viable to just wait.)
    Thanks in advance.

    Just replace the borken piece, don't worry about the others.

    The break is very commom among higher mile 2004+ cars.

    if you got a junk yard near by go get a l67 super charged coil bracket and strut mount. its one piece steel and will never break.

    or just replace the one you have. no need to replace anything else.
