I have an 04 also. It might be the coolant elbows. They're attached to the belt tensioner. They might be slightly dripping and burning off before it hits the ground. Common problem with our car. It's a good idea to replace the stock plastic ones with metal. $8 on eBay

lim gasket time, the upper intake gasket leaks coolant into the engine oil. look into it asap.

http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...w-to-Mod-a-LIM sealing these 2 ports will keep it from never leaking coolant again.

and this could be whats going on inside your intake. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...36-UIM-Failure

remove the sensors on the back of the engine, the injector plugs and any other plugs to the intake or throttle body so it can be lifted off the engine, then take the 4 bolts out of the fuel rail where tit bolts to the lower intake manifold. then lift the rail with the injectors out of the lim.

then unbolt the upper intake and remove it. then the egr tube, and the coolant e,bow, i snapped mine, then unbolts the lim and lift it off.

    your going this deep.

buy new metal lim gaskets, seal those 2 ports or check you upper intake for that hole or crack in the egr tube area.

you'll want some thread sealant for the lim bolts when you re install them.

good time to change the valve cover gaskets if they are leaking.

10 mm socket, and a few others 15 mm 13 mm a simple socket set from home depot is more then enough.

    and a torque wrench

i spent about 3 hours on mine taking my sweet ass time. spent a good deal of time cleaning matting surfaces too, aka cleaning off the old gaskets.

i also removed both dog bones, pulled the lower rad hose and let it drain before taking the intake and lim off, then rocked the engine back and fourth to help drain the lim of coolant. snapping the coolant elbow helps you to lift the lower intake off as flat and level as you can to avoid spilling any coolant in to the engine.

your lim has 2 hidden bolts on the lower intake, they are inside the lim, left back, right front iirc.

this is a sc lim and lifter job, (your not going as far as the lifter) its a pretty good overview of the job, yours is a bit different but it give you a idea what you need to do. and how to do it.
