Does anyone know if i can take an EGR from an 04+ (Series3) car and use it on a 97-03 (Series2) car?

Theres a really low mile series 3 car in a junkyard by me and I'm hoping I can use the EGR off of it so I dont have to fork out 80+ dollars for a brand new one

Then I'll always have a check engine light and the gas mileage factor

Its just a DD, if it was something i wanted to mod I'd probably delete it

You can tune the cel out and the gas mileage won't be affected at all.

I don't have any tuning software to tune it out. Wouldn't gas mileage drop off at least a little since the EGR is gone the engine isn't drawing any inert gasses into the cylinder so it would draw a higher volume of air/fuel therefore decreasing gas mileage?

Never noticed a decrease in mpg when I deleted mine and have yet to have the codes tuned out I enjoy not having to clean my TB as often.

Well that is interesting. If anyone else who has deleted their EGR can chime in as far as wether or not they have seen an a decrease in MPG that would be great. I may actually consider deleting then. What about KR tho? I know its usually the SC cars that have issues with that but without the inert exhaust gasses can you still run 87 octane with no worries about KR?

I was still knock free. Not sure if the egr effect knock or not I'm sure someone will chime in. Oh and the bay looks 100x without that EGR mess.

I didn't notice any difference in gas mileage. I have dhp tuner if you're ever up north and I could delete the code

Not on my Grand Prix, but I deleted the EGR on my Stealth and got an increase in gas mileage. That car is rated for 19 city/25 highway and I was getting 24-26 daily driving it and upwards of 30 mpg on trips.

Yes..only difference is the position of the wiring. If you look at a 97-03 from the front of the car.. the connector goes in at say 10-11 oclock, on 04+ it'll be over at 2-3. Wires will reach with a little help.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
