I know 2 healthy men can lift and move a L67 block with no pistons and just a crank, though its not fun.
So figure with some pistons maybe 200+ lbs?? But I am just quesssing.
Kool me and my friend gotta load my shortblock at the jy without a lift and then unload it in his garage bleh
I grabbed my L36 bare block off the engine stand and put it in the back of my truck by myself to take it to the machine shop. If there is 2 people and it is an assembled short block, it should not be a problem.
I'd say 200-50ish for a full shortblock with oil pan and timing cover. It's not that bad overall. It's more awkward than anything else. Heck Dtrick and I tossed a 3.5 shortblock into the trailer of scrap this weekend. It was easy for the two of us to do.
Well.. PO said trans was bad and the engine made a "clack clack clack" sound then stalled and wouldn't restart. His buddy is sure it's a sensor. I'm kinda thinking the hole in the side of the pan and the piston pieces in the pan were more the cause than that sensor. Call it a hunch.
Havnt met anyone that hasnt had some issue wit their 3.5 head head gasket oil pump so yeah PERFECT use of a 3.5![]()
