Gonna be rebuilding a 3.8L engine for my 2003 Impala and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place for rebuild kits, also if there are any problems that I should take care of now while the engine is torn apart?

Not sure about rebuild kits. But it sounds like you have a naturally aspirated motor. Around here the cost of a low mileage NA motor is about $300, which has been cost effective enough to keep me from every looking for a kit. Keep in mind you can get a newer motor. Say from something like a 2007 GP/Lucerne etc. There's very little that is different.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

The old motor was seized up and won't break lose (let it sit all year with blown head gaskets and fluid still in it). I found a complete motor with 103,00 miles with 3 year unlimited mile warranty from a junk yard and they want 1200 for it, and thats exact year. What about the cars computer if I put a newer motor in it? Where have you seen these low mileage motors for only $300?? BillBoost you know your stuff I see you on every thread thanks

Try car-part.com, Craigslist, etc. I picked up an 01 motor for my 00 for $400 delivered. Runs just fine.

You actually got the head gasket to pop?? Figured it would have been the UIM cracking and dumping coolant into the cylinders. That is way more common than a HG, just sayin.
