So I am in the planning stages of my epically slow paced build and am I came across some info that I would like to have more of.

I read in a couple places that on 97s the abs module causes fitment issues with 3" downpipes. If that is true then why do the vendors not mention this at all? Also, do they bend them differently for the 97s?

you remove the abs module...its useless so why would you want it?

my plans are to get a non-abs master cylinder from say an 06 base gp, then the monte/impala brake booster and you're all set.

    3" downpipes for turbo's.

    Yay.

3" downpipes for N/A's...no, ABS shouldn't get in the way at all.

And yeah, then you could do a 99+ ABS module or delete all the crap and run a base '04-'06 MC unit...because the base base base ones didn't have ABS.

And then, wheeeee clean engine bay and mucho room for X-over.

I am working a turbo build, but its going to be slow paced until I have enough saved up and then WHOOOSH built tranny and fully flowing z7 (front and rear plog, 3" downpipe etc.) all done at the same time, so to speak.

Looking to build a hv3, plog, HAI, dp and run that while putting away funds. I am definitely not going to turbo my car with the poor 4t60e in there. It is my DD and I plan to keep it that way post turbo which is why I am making sure I have enough saved to build it right. I am choosing "fast and reliable" thus being forced to leave "cheap" behind.

Do you need an intercooler and built tranny. Not necessarily. If you want to do it right the first time-yes get them both.

cheaper then I thought.think if i stayed low boost i could stay on my tranny? I dont do huge burnout or drive dumb lol. I have 05 tranny so its not the weakest 4t65e(2002 & under).
I wouldnt expect the tranny to last forever, but i also dont want to save 5000.00 all out once lols.easier for the wife to see $2000 disappear once and a while then 5000.00 all at once lol.

Just be prepared for the inevitable. It's not a matter of if the tranny will go out its a matter of when it will go out.

ya we got the ford ranger sitting as "The loaner" its the sport edition but with a 3.0? v6 auto with horrible mpg, but in good shape. then ill just order a tranny from triple edge performance and drive the loaner lols.
