Yea that's interesting. I wish I had a puller that nice.
My MIG welder and I were intimate one night and by morning a puller was born. LOL
Chuck..I needed one in a rush. Harbor Freight is right up the road about 15min.
$147 for the lift and $30 for the leveler. I've used it so much that it's more than paid for itself.
Harbor Freight.

and BTW...The Garage Journal is probably the best forum on the net to discuss your garage and reviews of tools. Some of the money spent is ridiculous......I want to be like them. LOL

Got a quick question, I have a local garage on my street, and the owner saw me working, and made me an offer. He said since I don't have a puller, of I fully prep the motor for pulling, he will bring his puller down, and yank it, and then drop the new one in. Just bare minimum. I do all the rest. He said 400$-500$. Is this a good offer?? Cause I'm very much considering it.
Sounds a bit pricey to me. It'll take him all of 30 minutes to pull the old and put the new. So, it's up to you.
It should $400 to $500 for him to do everything.
I would charge about $250 'cause it's only about 2 hours of work if you have everything prepped.
im sure you could rent a engine puller for less than 100 bucks, or buy one at harbor freight for under 200.
SO NO THATS NOT A GOOD DEAL. thats what they charge to do a whole swap. with out your help.
your not getting it, your doing the 300 bucks worth of work on your own. chaining a engine hoist to a engine and removing it is nothing, after its all unhooked that is.
unplugging and unbolting the engine, thats all the real work.
go rent a hoist, if your taking it all down to be ready for removal on your own, go the next 10% and pull it yourself. and save all that money.
