Thread: Engine light on! Help me out!

No I did not check the fuses. Is there a certain one I'm looking for? I just had the code read again its still throwing the same code. I'm puzzled the guy at the auto parts store said something about a sensor my have came unpluged he said I should crawl under the car and check that first. I'm assuming the plug he was talking about goes to my evap can.

Checked all my fuses they are good #21 is good also. Filled up with gas this morning and almost didn't get the car to crank. It started on the 5th time. It only has trouble cranking after I fill up with gas any other time it starts fine. Engine light is still on as well. Looks like I'm going to have to take it to the shop Friday.

I'm not real sure what it is man I gotta keep this car running though, and the not cranking after every fill up is really bothering me.

I'm having the exact same problem with my 2004 grand prix 3.8L N/A with engine code p0496 and I read on another thread that "The problem was that evap solenoid valve was stuck open located in the intake manifold." Still haven't been able to find what exactly this guy is talking about.. I've been looking for diagrams or pictures or anything along the lines and all I can find is the evap canister located inbehind the rear drivers side wheel. Maybe I'll have to take apart the whole intake. OH and as for the car not cranking after every fill I have this problem as well, and cleaned the throttle body up as best I could but it still does it, I think this problem could also have to do with evap solenoid valve in the intake...
