I want to swap my pos plastic intake on my L36 to an aluminum L26 one. I just happened to luckily find the intake at a junkyard a couple days ago and picked that up for 30 bucks. So my questions are 1) Where do i get an adapter from for the throttle body 2) What else has to be modified for the swap

Shoot, I cant remember off the top of my head if there is a write up or not, but it wouldnt hurt to search.

I know a few guys have done it, and they might chime in.

You need to get the LIM to TB adaper, need to drill/tap the bottom of the TB for the PCV from the nipple on the intake. Then you can either plug the L26 evap or use it, instead of the one on your motor currently.

    TB tapped

You can get the Adapter from ZZP...it's like a hundred bucks.

You can...depending on the shape of the factory UIM gasket, you can reuse it...

Things to modify to make it work. In the L36 LIM, you need to remove the EGR stovepipe...I also deleted the EGR at that time, something you might look into doing so it doesn't gunk up your throttle body (which I'd clean as well when you remove it)...then you need to tap and block off the '04+ EVAP port in the back of the manifold by the throttle body...and cap off the factory vacuum port on the top of the UIM.

But Bluey... why not use the L26 Evap and remove the old one from your engine for a cleaner look? Cap which vacuum port, not the pcv one?

Alright so i run a tube from the nipple on the top of the L26 manifold to the brass fitting i need to tap into the throttle body. Then can i keep the EGR stovepipe if i cut it down. Im not looking for performance modification just dependability and gas mileage. lol

You meant UIM not LIM right? From what i measured and could see the L26 and L36 blot pattern to the LIM is the same right?

Depends on which pipe is in your car. The original stock L36 pipes were pretty big. If you're manifold has ever been replaced or if it's a 00+ it'll likely have the smaller pipe which will funnel the EGR gasses past the gasket w/o hurting it.

Left has a smaller diameter base for the newer manifold, stock probably 98 pipe in the manifold and the replacement that would fit this manifold on the right with the smaller diameter pipe.

You could switch to a l67 tb while you're at it that's what I'm doing. I'm also doing 1.9 roller rockers and an hv3 insert when Bill helps me with mine :-) I'll be sure to document the install when I go to Bill's just so we could possibly make a how-to thread.
