Okay, due to some poor advice from the guy at advanced auto, im pretty sure that I put the head gaskets on the wrong sides, if the left is the front of the car.. The look exactly the same though. My question is: what's the worst that would happen if I left them the way they are?? I know they say left and right for a reason, but they aligned perfect, and the only difference was one of the jacket holes was slightly bigger than the other one. I'm really hoping that I don't have to rip the engine apart again... Thanks in advance.

I would think the left one would be the rear head (if facing the front of the motor where all the pullies are). Not sure how else to look at em, lol... The front is the front. Just because they mounted it sideways doesn't change the left and right sides of a motor.

Worst case I would think there would be a small restriction of coolant through there, which may or may not be ok. If it's too restrictive and this is a cooling jacket for a cylinder then it may allow that particular cylinder to run hot. I'd wait for a better answer on this one for sure.

Left is front as seen from the drivers seat with a normally mounted engine.

thank you. wooh, thats a huge relief then. i was so worried cause someone said the front (looking from the front of the car) was the left, in which case the gaskets would have been in the wrong spots. ive sinked alot of time/ money into this engine so far, and that would have cost me like 200 more dollars lol.

I'm pretty sure the "front" head is the "left" head. The engine pulleys are all on the passenger side.
