so there we had... I did complain about the 2007 GP base, 62k kms, not starting up with the remote starter a few times... as in it cranks, starts firing up, then dies... lights confirm that its on.. then electrical burning smell......you know that little poof or wtv it does, then the engine catches on.... sometimes when starting there would a delay from that poof and the car running..

So today driving in the parking lot, the pos decides to stall just before I turned halfway in an intersection in the parking lot... people were waiting, getting angry, and pickup trucks flooring it by us... no CEL, nothing in the information center

I tried restarting the car, it was doing what it does above... cranks, fires (catches), then dies... kept happening, until my dad took over, and he said he put his foot on the gas to keep the car going ,and then started ripping it in the parking lot.. hehe after that it seemed fine.... yet.. until we have another problem.

Update-... talked to my dad, he said that at one point after he drove off with it, the RPMs were jumping from 1500 to 3500, like it someone was pressing the throttle...

I did read up online about this... not sure what it could be... At first the remote starting thing I can deal with it. This is beginning to irritate me.. feels like we bought a lemon.. we've only had the car for 4 months and problems are starting to add up. ABS.Trac light in the cold needing to restart, major engine vibration with brakes applied at a stop.

Also to note its cold winter weather here, on and off, in Montreal. I did call the owners before and they said they had no problems with the car and really wanted to keep it but the buyback was too much.

I was suggested by users on here, to clean MAF... etc.. haven't done it yet.... due to weather.... and I sometimes doubt that a dirty MAF would do this? The dealer did change the air filter in March 2011... and the car was on the road since feb 2007.
Then there's a bulletin about the crankshaft position sensor..... on the 2007.... don't know if its that.. or could be..
But I do think there is something strange going on with the delay in firing.. off the start.
Feels like this is gonna be another piece of junk.... I mean the Oldsmobile we had, had issues towards the end, 14 years.... but this 4 years already... okay well 5 for built date

Ya I was thinking that too fuel pressure check.. I think we have the tools for that these run at about 50 psi?

Well when the car stalled out in the parking lot, we had it running for a good 10-15 mins, already, from home to there... so the car was warm and all...
Just to reinterate in case i didn't make sense, which I usually do not... the car cranks, catches, fires up but dies... after... plus cutting out on idle... happens cold and warm... or I think.. closed and open loop...

I'm still gonna hook it up a OBDII scanner, and run a log... when its warm, and from a cold start sometime soon.. what should I look for in the measurements.. I only know a few off hand.... map, maf, fuel.. (i think there's no fuel pressure reading, I did hook it up before... but only idled the car.. lets say the rpms show different reading than on the tach.. that would be indicative of the CPS? I'm just throwing things out there.. as this is a very grey area for me now.... hihi!

edit - one thing i noticed when on an overpass, and the car is angled down on a slope, the idle rpm stays higher.. like 800.... its been weird on this one.. idle changes... what i think independent of the ac compressor.. I know it changes too for that...

Went for a run, and ran some OBD 2 software, with some screen caps
some are mix, as in metric and English units

I shut the car off and restarted..

coasting

idling after a run

inital startup, note that I started it up after it was driven for a little while not on a cold start

o2 intial start up

I still get that vibration when holding the brakes at idle and in D.. the rpms drop to like 650.. ish, car usually idles 700... and with rear defroster on drops lower than 650..

That MAP sensor we reglued, wiggles bit... but this startup problem happened even before this stalling issue..
Gas mileage is not good... even since we got it.... in September, got like 220-250km on a half a tank with a mix of city and highway driving.
The oil did smell fuel like... but I was idling a lot before this.. with my foot on the brake to feel the vibrations and see if the scanner would show anything..

I did post this on another forum to get ideas... so far they said either clean MAF or change Crankcase Position Sensor. There is still no trouble code...

thank you.
