    My mom has an 02 Bonneville with the NA 3.8 and the car recently spun a main bearing, she came across a wrecked 05 Bonneville with 25k miles and good drivetrain for $500! I'm wondering if the block/heads assembly would be a direct swap or not, also the trans too. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    The trans is wired differently. If you use your external range selector switch it's usable but I don't know what else need be done. I think you have to have 03 trans tables loaded.

    As for the engine. If you want it easy, you'll have to swap the LIM and UIM to the style that's on your old motor. You could get a gen V to l67 adapter plate and run the aluminum UIM but then you have to worry about other things like the evap being different and such.

    This I'm sure is a dumb question, but what does LIM and UIM stand for?

    LIM = Lower Intake Manifold
    UIM = Upper Intake Manifold

    Ok, yeah we were planning on re-using the current intake mani, but along the lines of sensors and stuff, the block is the same? Including crank sensor teeth, cam sensor location, etc.?

    Yeah, you won't have to worry about anything else. Just swap the upper and lower intakes.
