To anyone saying 2,000 is normal. You have an issue. Programming is not 2,000 rpm at startup.
If you'd like to see the table, I'll post them up if you say what year/model you have.

ok this morning at 5:45am i walked outside and cranked my car up for the first time in 2 days, it was like 50 something, i cranked it up it went to 2k, it didnt stay there it just shot up there for like a sec or 2 then the came down to about 1500-1200 for like 3-4 mins then i started to slowy work its way down but it never went below 1000 even after it was warmed up,
i tried taking a pic of it with my phone but its a pos
this was about 5 sec after first start up
Sure you ain't got a vac leak?
Or maybe YOUR IAC/TPS' are dirty and need cleaning.
breh![]()
everythings clean, it probably has a leak since its a 3100 and they leak to run right
but for almost 5 years its done the same thing everything time, i would think that if something was wrong then it would get worse over time
When I started mine yesterday it didn't do it, it went straight to 1200 and gave me no issues. Same when I started it when I was leaving where I was at. I'm still going to clean all my sensors and the throttle body, I'm just confused why it would do it a few times and then not do it.
((Mine is a 3.8, though I doubt that makes a difference))
That definately makes a difference. We'll try to help out instead of blaming it on "inferior motor" lol
so, should i be concerned mine does that as well?(2000GT 3800) it idles high probably 2k-ish for maybe a minute then drops right down, does it once in the morning and that's it. its cold out though.. weather said "feels like -29" on a side thought i should probably swap to 5-30 now o.O
