Is there any tricks to getting the engine to line back up with the transmission after it was been out of the vehicle I have been struggling with it for about a hour now

i found that jacking the trans up ever so slightly helped a lot. and i actually removed the oil filter housing which bought me a few inches of play room. i won't do it again because i had to stand on my head to get it bolted back up. but you do what you gotta do.

may have to angle the chains a certain way with the tranny jacked up and get it to slide together.

Yeah just jack up the passenger side of the trans a bit and go at an angle. They slide right in.

Mallet....seriously, helped me a ton. Also, as soon as you have 1 guide-pin in, and can start the top 2 bolts, do so, but just get a few threads in. it'll keep it from popping back out during the process of fine wiggling on the engine (yanking and cussing at it to go in)

And I've only jacked the tranny up a little bit once, and it didn't help too much IMO, but its worth trying.

Thanks Guys! I got it. I did remove the oil filter adapter though so this should be fun to reattach

OH god.....I did that once..and wanted to shoot myself. Make sure you grab a new gasket, and some gasket remover..cause of how crazy the mating surface is, its a pain to get it all off.

2 of the bolts arent bad to get to...but the 2 bottom ones are...took me prolly 45 minutes with a wobble-joint to get them tight.

Glad it's in tho, thats a major step in the right direction.

Yet another reason why my motors always come out w/ the trans on them. Sure you can leave it in, but its not much more to take loose to bring the trans with it. Then I don't have to fight with it
