hey, new to posting on here. i got a 98 SE and i got new bumpers, new full dual exaust, CAI, 8mm wires still to add, and a few other mods. project in progress.
i saw that the LS6 valve springs fit Perfect onto our heads and work great?
does anyone know how much/if they add h.p.??
are there any differences between different 3.8s?
rockers, lifters, springs, intakes, t.b., etc?
just different parts from different cars to help with h.p.
i want to do this cheaply as possible cuz i plan on doing a top swap, but redoing the heads and the s.c. on the side and saving up every nut and bolt and gasket to just tear into it and get it done asap.
    thanks in advance

    Welcome...here's the dealeo...

CAI really only makes more noise...maybe a couple more horse since you had a '98 and the factory airbox really is junky. 8mm wires are adding no more power than factory ones unless yours were shot and misfiring...full dual exhaust? Meaning...catback? Because the factory catbacks are good to over 300+ FWHP...the restrictive parts are the manifolds and the downpipe/u-bend.

Yeah, the LS6 Springs/Retainers work with our cars...but why are you needing them? Upgraded springs are going to do nothing to help you until your running a higher ratio rocker or a cam setup...tossing them on a stock car will just let you run up the shift points if you want without worry of stock valve spring valve float...but then you'd be wondering why your car is slower since it is well out of the powerband. And no...no valve springs add horsepower.

There are plenty of differences...top end and compression wise...everything else is the same...

L36: 9.4:1 Compression, N/A, Cable Driven TB, Plastic UIM
L26: 9.4:1 Compression, N/A, Drive By Wire TB, Aluminum UIM, Returnless Fuel System...
L67: 8.5:1 Compression, SC, Cable Driven TB, GenIII M90 SC
L32: 8.5:1 Compression, SC, Drive By Wire TB, GenV M90 SC, Returnless Fuel System...

All of the rockers in all of the cars are of a 1.60:1 Ratio...valve springs are all the same...retainers, lifters, pushrods...
