I just bought the 04 grand prix GT today (3800 series 3 n/a) , and sometimes it has a problem after sitting a while with starting.

If I let it sit for a little bit i have to cycle the key a few times before it will start and stay running, or i have to start it and put my foot into the pedal before it stays running. I'm just a little concerned about this and curious about what could cause it.

My mind is telling me that theres something wrong with the fuel delivery to the engine which is causing this issue. But once it starts it stays running fine.

Just a little confused, any help is appreciated. thanks

I had the same problem as you. Most likely you just need to clean the throttle body because it gets alot of engine gunk on it over time. Just pick up some throttle body cleaner from an auto store then take it off the car and go to town on it.

    This.

The noob is right...plenty of DBW cars suffer from build of in the TB's...deleting the EGR also vastly helps with that.
