    Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum. I'm wondering how much I should expect to pay for a 3800 Series III L26. I would also need alt, ac compressor, sensors, ecm, starter, ect.

This would be for an engine swap into a fiero. I want a non supercharged for a turbo application later down the road.

How much should I expect to pay for the engine (with less than 20k miles) and where is the best place to get used sensors, alt, ect. Salvage yard?

    Thanks

I'd say try car-part.com and an L26 should be between $500 and $750 depedning on miles. Car-part should link you to a local parts reseller for everything else you need.

Keep us updated on the Fiero build!

Thank you Explicit_Spade. What about the 4T65E-HD trans? What year / trim did the HD come in?

    Thanks a bunch

4T65E-HD tranny's came in all L67, L32, and LS4 cars. I wouldn't bother looking for them though for your Fiero. The only difference between the HD and non-HD tranny's are the gear ratio's (worse in the HD's) and the differential is a little better. If I were you, I would check out this place for a tranny: Triple Edge Performance - Home Page

You're going to need a built tranny for a turbo setup.

bottom end is good for well over 500whp. zzp hit around 800+whp on the stock block.

    it's all in the tune.

Realistically, the LIM gasket is the worst part. The 3800 is a pretty solid engine, and just like Bio said, ZZP put out around 800whp on a stock bottom end. The weakest link isn't the engine, it's the tranny. TEP is the best in that department. ZZP is the best in the engine department.
