Thread: Power log VS Headers

On a N/A car.. I bet you won't feel a seat in the pants difference but I bet you'd see a small difference in Quarter mile & HP

I think Im starting to understand (I've read that sticky 3 or 4 times now, just to pick up things I missed on), lol.

From what I can gather, headers give more power than plogs, but move the powerband (And the added power they add) up into the high rpm's, where it is more usable by a blown set up, because NA makes more power in the lower ranges. (Or perhaps better said, less power in the higher ranges than a supercharger since the faster the engine spins, the faster the s/c spins, and makes more boost/power.)

And while plogs also have that effect to a lesser extent, most of what they do is to just improve the flow of the front manifold which results in a smaller hp gain than headers, while the rear exhaust manifold already flows well enough (Talking about 2008 base).

The main reason I was confused in the first place is that I read in that sticky that NA wants a little bit a back pressure, so I figured that headers might be overkill just because they might flow TOO well and not give that little bit of desireable back pressure.

Am I anywhere close? lol
