Ok, at what point do I need to switch to premium gas (91-93 octane).

Everything on the engine is stock now except for a K&N drop in filter and a
2.5" downpipe. Stock CAI box has been opened up a bit. Oh yeah, with the DP and K&N I don't need to flash the PCM yet do I?

Future mods include a HVTB, spacer, HVIII, ER Ratio Rockers, 180 Temp, 1 step colder plugs, a WizAired CAI, and a PCM flash.
debadged, clear corners, 20% tint, tinted tails, vibrant performance tips, red painted calipers, Fig. grills, autometer guages, PFYC 3 pod A pillar, SLP CAI, 2.5" DP, SD Hood, SD front air damn, Gen I spoiler, 17X8 Borbet Type M rims, engine upgrades soon!

never if you tune for a lower octane. id just enjoy the added timing i could run with the premium.

I thought the L67 was supposed to require premium stock... I know the Impala SS says "Premium Fuel Only".

    GT or GTP?
If GT I would say you're fine till you swap the PCM
Without extra timing a GT would be fine with lower octane fuel
No trees were destroyed for this message.
However, a great number of pixels were extremely inconvenienced.

My thoughts as well. Run as low of an octane as you can, you'll end up getting more power out of it in the long run. If you need to, step up to mid grade.

Thanks, been working on the 97 Camaro RS lately and haven't had much time for the GP.
