does having the belt on matter?
I don't know just throwing that out.....
the belt is off , i just need to know if it comes off lefty loosy or not .. lol..
crank the starter over seems to work for others brace the bar against the frame and tap the starter
Just make sure the fuel and spark is disabled
lefty loosey not righty tighty
Do the starter trick. Unplug the ICM. Works every time.
1/2 snap on impct works great too
Ok, the starter trick didnt work for me. I ended up breaking a 1/2" breaker bar, the crank bolt was on so hard.
make sure the flexplate is clamped good,(or how ever you're keeping the engine from turning) Jack the car up some more, and get some more extension on the end of that bar, and turn as hard as you can Counterclockwise.
Just dont pull muscles like I did....
got it . thanks guys. did the starter thing, came right off...run'n like a champ after new sencer !
heat the bolt up with a torch and spray it with water. than try the starter trick. if that doesnt work buy an impact gun![]()
Yeah.... dont heat the crank bolt unless you want to buy a new balancer.
When i took mine off we need a 1/2 impact, with a lot of torque, breaker bar wont do it
stop being women.
a four foot breaker bar and a simple vice grip on the flex plate and boom.... off it came.
sorry, i believe it might be a 42" bar.
the point is.
Working smart is better than working hard.
pshhh...you guys are doin it all wrong...1/2" breaker with a STB off a buick is what I used.
My stepmom's car....well that one broke the socket....bolt didnt wanna come off...period.
