Which one is lighter?

the point of it was more making an N/A car faster while keeping it N/A. overall, the best way to make an N/A car fast is to boost it. you have a lot more options when something's boosted to make it faster, like dropping pulley sizes or getting bigger turbos with supporting mods. but trying to make a FWD V6 fun 13's without boost would be pretty tough i imagine

The cost to turbocharge a 3800 is about the same as that to build a 383 which also makes 500 HP... One just sounds a ****load better and fits in right wheel drive cars versus wrong wheel drive cars.

I would say that it doesnt take a whole lot to make a N/A 3800 just as quick as a Boosted 1 but to beat modded l67's being N/A requires alot more money than just goin the Boosted way. To me u just more pleasure out of beatin a Boosted car an ur all motor . Almost like beating a guy in sports who takes steroids an ur all natural lol...

Okay, this thread is a bit old, but seeing as I just read the whole thing I think I'm entitled to drop in my .02 of thought here.
To make an NA 3800 as fast as or faster than the supercharged 3800 car does take a lot. On paper, it looks like your GT is only 40 horsepower and 40 ft-lbs of torque down from the GTP. Hey, that isn't much, right?
But the fact that the blower helps put the torque out through more of the power band means you will need to make a lot more with your NA car.
I'm going to say this cliche: There is no replacement for displacement. But blowers and turbos will give you MORE displacement, period. The best you can hope for with normal aspiration is to make your engine less restrictive/more efficient. But you'll end up needing a lot more money because you'll need to stroke that engine, get the best possible flowing heads, a perfect cam to let the engine breathe in the upper RPMs, and the proper intake and exhaust mods.
And you will spend thousands of dollars to get there.
Maybe this isn't what you want to hear, but it's pretty much how it goes.

The 1931 Model A i've been working on has a 200 cu inch 4cyl that does 90ft\lb at 2200rpm. you ain't got nothing against this RAW muscle! we're talking high compression in the neighborhood of 4:1!!!!
OK maybe not raw muscle. But it does get 30MPG highway with a top speed of 60mph and i'd rather be seen in it then a prius. The manual timing advance is a bit annoying tho.

Actually, i know so cuz my bros 98 gtp beat me. :th_shakinghead2: after the demod i almost spent the $1300 towards a turbo but said screw it lol had a full top swap at one paint and bailed on that also. Should have done it, but hey, its a daily driver and it runs fantastic.

Even my GT with too cold plugs and a 180 * stat managed 29 MPG at 70-75 mph this past weekend with a fresh O2 sensor. about 27 MPG on the way down with correct heat range plugs, 195* and a junk O2.

I think it bases it off what the computer tells it for the torque values. Do you have a stall converter in your car?
