Same maf in the l67 and l36. With street tires I was running anywhere from 14.78 to 14.9x's with a gt1 cam, plog and 2.5" dp, intake, hv3, and a tune. I would have done way better with some sticky tires. With that setup there wasn't a lot of low end torque at all though so you'll want a higher stall converter.
here is a vid of me racing a mustang 5.0l with a manual tranny let me know wht you think this vid will show you wht i mean by no top end power i was right with him till the end

It isn't just the lack of mods...it is a 3800 thing. They all die on the top end.
these motors just lack a top end power like we would want, to change that you need to change the valvetrain. those rockers and an HV3 will give you your top end. the only other option you have is to switch to a cam setup which would move the powerband up even higher.
Get your tune...get the modded 1.9's and an HV3...get your TB ported too...I'm tellin' ya...those alone SHOULD net mid to high 14's...enough to beat that 'Stang at least as long as he stays stock...or like a cold air and mufflers![]()
yup i like the look on there face i killed a bmw 323i a bunch of rice integras civics hemi ram v6 charger acura tsx old 70 chevy pu with a lt1 with full boltons old 60s mercury comet with a 302 with headers intake and 550 cfm carb dodge viper but he couldn't get traction lol
if the only reason you won is because the other guy didn't have traction means you're still the loser in the long run.
Even with traction issues...that thing should have ran a 13
