So I have an 08 base and want to do some more mods. I'm looking at getting headers, but not sure what brand is the most reliable. I've looked on the forums and it seems every one complains about the brands and I don't really want to be spending $600 on the ZZP headers. So can anyone give me any suggestions?

Also I want to get the HV3 insert and a ported throttle body. With all three of these mods added and a possible PCM upgrade at the end, will I have to worry about transmission stress or anything?

    Thanks

Id start off by reading this:

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/s...car-17482.html

SSAC headers have been good for cheaper brand headers .. TOGS are good if you want bigger primaries.

With just headers,HV3 and PCM your tranny should be fine.

I might go with the SSAC headers. Would this fit my car?

actually not sure if they fit the newer body styles. Hopefully someone with a 04+ will chime in .

skip the ported throttle body, our tb's are already a strait thru design and you dont really need a bigger one.

if your gonna put headers on a N/A i would say spray it to get the most out of them but if you wanna keep it bolt on and no spray, i would look into some rockers also.

as far as transmission stress, you should be fine as long as your not a dick to it.

Headers are STUPID on an N/A car...unless your running some big cam/heads setup.

Get your rockers, an HV3, make your own fenderwell intake, get a new set of plugs (autolite 605's), new wires, a 180* T-Stat, ZZP Front PLOG Manifold, 3" Downpipe...then get a tune. Like said above...if you were top swapping or spraying it...get headers...but the huge amount of low end you lose with headers can be easily avoided by getting a PLOG/DP combo and saving money and keeping your low end torque.

Okay, so if the headers aren't going to do anything, I'd rather just do the plog and the downpipe. But which one would I exactly need to get? I looked at the ZZP DP and there are a few options. I would like something that I can install in my own garage and something that doesn't need a PCM upgrade at this time.

I need to save up a few bucks to get the PCM. Also, I know nothing about rockers, so if anyone could give me a little info on them or show me some rockers that would work on my car, I'd be greatly appreciative.

i think there trying to say, they want to get the downpipe and feel some more power, but dont have the money for the tune right now.

zzp's down pipe is a direct bolt in. the shorty has to be welded in.

Exactly. I'm going to get a tune when I get the money.

So for right now I'll do the 180* ts, ZZP downpipe w/ cat, ZZP plog, and the HV3.

I'll look more into rockers and get the sparks and wires soon also.
