Ok guys, and gals... my 99gt is tickin me off, it usually dies on me about 3 or so miles down the road after i first start the car, what ive noticed, if i take the oil fill cap off and wait 5 or so min, it will start right up, further into that, i get a white vapor that comes out of the oil fill, i had one guy (in a gp gt) whip it around today and stop to offer help (cause GP'ers gotta stick together right) he said odds are its the plenum or the gasket. im losing coolant constantly as well, its gotten to the point where i dont even put coolant in anymore i can drop easily a 1/2 gallon in a day or 2 no unusual overheating though.... any ideas? (i only have around 300 to spend) I need to get this fixed, my job requires that i drive all over all day long.

Is your fuel pump working properly? Or your leaking coolant in through the LIM.

LIM gaskets go bad in these cars. Get the Metal LIM gasket from Pontiac or wbodystore.com or wherever & replace that plastic leaky thing.

does it make a loud hissing noise when youre driving it? like its building up a lot of pressure? could be a junk PCV.

the first thing I would look into is the coolant leak. find out where it is leaking for sure and take it from there.

    Right on!

You have to addresst this first and should not ignore and keep driving it.

I mean really, how can you expect the engine to run properly if it keeps ingesting, or burning up coolant?

which is the reason why i was asking about the plenum, i cant afford to just tear the engine down to find the problem, im looking for odds like "odds are its probably the plenum gasket"

Odds that it might need all new gaskets top end wise.

LIM, UIM, TB, new vacuum lines since dry rot is a big issue. New T-Stat and coolant flush to get rid of the crapxcool...and replace with the green stuff.

vacuum lines seem to be in good shape, dont look dry rotted, just dropped tstat in not too long ago already got rid of crapxcool
but as for the rest, thats probably what i'll do
    thank you

any shop should be able to tell you where your leak is coming from. They can pressurize your cooling system and pin point it.

it could, are you leaving puddles where you park? and smell your exhaust. if it smells sweet your burning coolant. you could have both things wrong lol
