Hey All, about a week ago my car started to misfire n blow out a thick white cloud....of course it wasnt just the Head Gasket but the Intake manifold cracked as well, after a week in the shop i get it back...and the check engine light popped on, had it scanned and it said Lean on bank 1. Its going back in on Wed to have the vacuum lines looked at as there is prolly a crack in one of em....i cant win. even tho its going in, anyone have any idea as to maybe which one it might be, or another cause? and NO i did not have them refill with Dex, since that would prolly be a question asked lol.

There is only one or two main vacuum routings on the L36 that I am aware of...but I'm not too familiar with it. Either the one on the fuel rail or the EVAP one...not sure if they are the same...but that's what I would check. OR just trade it for a GTP

OK guys, need a weee bit of help, my mechanic cleared the coded, checked the vac lines, all good, cleaned the MAF, and replaced the Fuel filter, cleared the code and i got it back, this AM the light came back on, its only throwing a lean code. and only happend when its parked or in gear and @ a stop. what else could this be we are both kinda stumped and any insight woudl be great, also the car does run great, too good to get a light.

Maybe your inj. are dirty or one of them are clogged, try a inj. cleaner?
Also whats your fuel press? if its to low that might do it too??

^^Maybe if he could read what you were trying to say it might help him.

I say fuel pump might be starting to die out? Is it the OEM one? Just a thought man.

yeah its OEM, as per my mechanic the fuel filter was caked up, with like a black grime, the fuel pressue was good, and i run Lucas system cleaner every oil change, i put some in about 3-4 weeks ago, i will try maybe some seafoam if it is an injector cloggage. The funny thing about it is its ONLY when stopped & idle. it runs great otherwise,

^^ x2 for what it is worth.

Lean isn’t good, keep on it, and drive slow until it is fixed. Good luck

Ok, my shop replaced the Upper intake because they found that the new one was the source of the vacuum leak, bolted it all back up and on my way to work this am, the light came back on, and the idle lopes on idle. is there ANYTHING anyone can think of that would make this continue to happen? We are stumped.
